As fall approaches, I am spending less time outside and more time at home or entertaining friends. I love to entertain people, it feels good to welcome others and make them feel at home. Drinks are great to keeping the party going, but food and snacks are a must. So, I have been on the hunt for snacks that are moderately healthy and delicious.
I went to the farmers market recently to scope out some snacky ideas, among other fun things, and sampled some amazing fresh goat cheese. Ever since, I have been obsessed with finding fresh feta. I began searching feta recipes, the best kinds of feta, and where to get fresh feta…you get the idea. I came across a recipe that I am in love with!
This whipped feta and honey dip is better than I could have hoped for, it has the freshness that I wanted with the sweet flavor from the honey. You can use carrots, pita chips, or toasted pitas to dip. This recipe only takes about 10 minutes to make (max) and it is a crowd pleaser.
I ended up having to add more honey as the snacking went on because it was so tasty to scoop off of the top, that it was gone pretty quickly, leaving only the Feta behind.
WHIPPED FETA & HONEY DIP
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 5 oz Feta
- 3/4 Cup Ricotta
- 3 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1/4 Cup Honey
HELPFUL HINT: Keep extra honey near by for when all of your guests (or you) eat all of the honey off of the top and still have some Feta dip left over.
GARNISHES:
- Cracked Pepper to taste
- Green Onion
WHAT TO DO:
- You can use a mixer or a food processor to blend the Feta, Ricotta, and Olive Oil together until it’s smooth. The fluffier you can get the mixture the better!
- Spread on a plate or board making a well in the middle for your honey.
- Garnish with cracked pepper and green onions.
- Serve!
