This isn’t the normal blog post that you can expect from me, but now that my birthday has come and gone I am feeling sentimental. If you don’t like posts like these, that’s okay… enjoy the pictures of me eating cake!
More so than New Year’s Day, I feel like birthdays are a day of reflection. I love my birthday for this reason and well… there’s usually cake. I love being surrounded by the people I love most and on this day I always look back to where I was a year ago, there is always ups and downs to each year. I firmly believe that hard times allow you to appreciate the good moments that much more. In this last year, I have lost both my Grandma and my Grandpa, but I have gained friendships, grown as a person, and found love in my life that wasn’t there a year ago. If you are feeling off beat just do what you can to make the best of today and something great will be just around the corner.
This year I am 24 and I am definitely not scared of getting older (of wrinkles… yeah maybe), but each year that goes by I learn and grow so much. Allow yourself to “live your best life”, it sounds SO cheesy but when you start living for you and not for the opinions of others you will find that you get excited for the next year and the opportunities you face. Anyways, like I said, this post isn’t the norm for me but what is a blog if not to let others get a sneak peek at your life, right?
