SPRITZ COCKTAIL

SPRITZ COCKTAIL

I am hoping that if I keep making Spring and Summer recipes that it will encourage the weather to warm up! I have been interested in making a spritz cocktail ever since it hit Instagram like crazy last year. Unfortunately, I was in the process of moving and adjusting to life in Chicago, so I didn’t get the chance to try it out. I posted a Spritz photo to my Instagram and got several questions about how to make it or what recipe I used. As requested, here is the Aperol Spritz recipe I use.

20 BARRETTES YOU NEED IN YOUR LIFE

20 BARRETTES YOU NEED IN YOUR LIFE

I started seeing barrettes about a month or so ago, never did I think this trend would make a comeback. I had a million of these growing up, all different shapes and shades of pink. Even though this trend came out of no where, I am all of the sudden obsessed. Instead of shades of pink I am looking for a stylish gold or, as always, leopard print. Shockingly, when I looked up barrettes there weren’t many options on my favorite boutique websites. None the less, I went on a hunt for the perfect barrettes for you. Below are the categories of barrettes that you are sure to find at least one hair piece you will love.

HOW TO GET A POLAROID PICTURE WITHOUT THE CAMERA

HOW TO GET A POLAROID PICTURE WITHOUT THE CAMERA

Polaroid pictures have been back in style for a while now, getting your hands on a truly vintage Polaroid camera can be expensive, and buying a new one isn’t exactly cheap either. I love the instant photos that Polaroids provide. It’s so fun to take these cameras out on the town or vacation, but I never seem to get a great photo. It usually takes me more than one shot to get a decent picture. I’m still learning how to not have dark or washed out photos using a Polaroid camera, lighting is definitely a struggle for me. The film for the actual camera can range from $1-3+ per photo. That’s insane when you think about how many shots you take on an iPhone to get only one good photo. On my phone, I have 100 photos of the same thing, there’s no way I could afford to take that many photos using a Polaroid camera. If I figure out the secret to taking the perfect photo on a Polaroid camera, I will be sure to let you all know. In the mean time, I found a life hack that will make getting the perfect polaroid so much easier.

WHY YOU NEED COLLAGEN

WHY YOU NEED COLLAGEN

I became very interested in the idea of taking collagen after I had seen a few ads and seen some of my favorite influencers talking about it. I am not into taking supplements, other than my daily vitamins, mainly because I have never really noticed a difference or believed the marketing behind them. Now that I am approaching 25, I have started to notice some fine lines surfacing on my forehead and under my eyes. So when I heard about taking collagen, something that is essential to maintain youth, I was definitely curious. I wanted to learn more about it to see if it really works.

VALENTINES DAY EDIT

VALENTINES DAY EDIT

Trying to find the perfect Valentine’s Day outfit can feel daunting. I created a few shoppable edits that will be perfect for any night that you may have planned. While I love going out and dressing up for date night I will be taking the relaxing night in approach this year. It has been so cold in Chicago and I really don’t want to go out and try to make reservations in a packed restaurant, when dining at home can be just as romantic. Making dinner together is one of my favorite things to do with my girl friends and my significant other. I think its so fun to cook and eat together. Who doesn’t love eating, right? Anyways, I hope you find the perfect out fit or inspo from this post. Happy Valentines Day!

PLANNING 2019 WITH GOLDEN COIL

PLANNING 2019 WITH GOLDEN COIL

I like having a physical planner, just like I like reading a physical book instead of an ebook. There is something about having a copy I can write on, add stickers to (yes I’m a child at heart), and physically have in front of me. Several people have asked why I don’t just use an app so that I wouldn’t have to carry a book around with me. I have used the excuse, “if I lose my phone then it’s gone”, but that’s not really true, the cloud backs up all of my data. I don’t have a great reason behind liking a physical copy of my schedule, maybe it has something to do with the escape of screens. All day, everyday, I am looking at a screen. At work, I have my phone and computer that I am constantly checking. Then at home, I am looking at my phone and at the TV.

I have always had a physical planner and don’t intend to switch to an app anytime soon. I like being able to use it as a daily planner, recipe collector, address book, budgeting tool, and so much more. I use a million sticky notes and gel pens to color coordinate and give myself reminders, and I LOVE it!
