This is my Valentine’s Day outfit inspiration, when deciding what I want to wear I usually peruse my favorite shops and decide if i want to use what I already own to make a new look or purchase a new piece (It usually turns into a combo of each). Here are just a few of the items I LOVED when on the hunt for my looks. I linked all of the items below…

WHAT THE HECK IS A LIP MASK?
Read more: WHAT THE HECK IS A LIP MASK?I have been seeing lip masks on social media and some of my friends have even sent me snaps using them. I do use lip scrubs (my favorite is the lip scrub by Lush Cosmetics, click here), it really helps keep my lips exfoliated, especially if I am planning on using a matte lipstick. I decided to do some research and try them out for you!

Creamy Hot Buttered Rum
Read more: Creamy Hot Buttered RumIf you live in the Midwest (like I do) or anywhere it gets below freezing in the winter, you are probably like me and take any chance to have cozy days inside by the fire with a warm mug of (insert your favorite beverage here). I have only ever had Hot Buttered Rum once when I visited Colonial Williamsburg, it was pretty good. This recipe definitely isn’t the same but it’s just as tasty.
I will include the full detailed recipe in this post below, but for now, here is my account of making hot buttered rum. There aren’t many tips I need to add to this recipe as it’s very easy to make. However, I would recommend serving with a spoon as some of the spices settle to the bottom after a while.
If you don’t end up using all of the drink mixture you can save in the freezer for a later date! This recipe makes about 6-8 servings; it was quick and very easy to make (my favorite kind of recipe).
If you use different ingredients or have any tips to add feel free to leave me a comment!

Touring My City – Goldenrod Pastries
Read more: Touring My City – Goldenrod PastriesI love being a tourist in my own town! My obsession is food (big surprise there), but new places to eat or unique shops call out to me. I found this particular shop about a year ago, since my blog wasn’t live then I haven’t had the chance to share. I have a major sweet tooth and couldn’t help but fall in love with this place!
Goldenrod Pastries is a locally owned “woman-powered” bakery and the only one of its kind in Lincoln, NE. Most people don’t take vacations to Nebraska, but if you are ever driving through or visiting family/friends this is a must stop shop.
They make all kinds of cakes, deserts, and cookies. (My favorites are the pistachio macarons and the cheese cake!) There are SO many options, most of which are gluten-free, dairy-free, and some are vegan. Goldenrod prides themselves on being very inclusive and can accommodate most food allergies. They source their ingredients from local farms not only support the community but also to provide fresh and organic goods. The ladies that work there are so sweet (no pun intended) and are more than happy to explain ingredients or help you find the perfect treat. (Some of them even have edible glitter on them!) The decor is mid-century modern but the building has original exposed brick and decorative tiled ceiling. What’s not to love? Follow them on Instagram, you wont regret it! @goldenrodpastries
I hope after reading this post you are encouraged to tour your own city and find the hidden gems!
